DCMCO Support Meetings
The DCMCO Support Meetings are held quarterly on the first Saturdays of September, December, March and June from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The standard agenda includes:
2:00 – 2:30: Registration/Vendor Fair/Social Time
2:30 – 3:15: Speaker/Presentation of Topical GF-Related Content
3:15 – 3:30: DCMCO News and Updates
3:30 – 4:00 Social Time/Vendor Fair
These support meetings are a wonderful opportunity to meet other DCMCO members and non-members, and learn more about living life gluten-free. Attendees often get together after the meetings for additional socializing.

Topic: “What’s For Lunch?” Whether you’re headed back to school or back to work or even out to play for the weekend; join the DCMCO as we discuss and share tasty gluten-free make head lunch options. We will also explore and offer advice on how to help our kids stay gluten free in school; tips on navigating through the cafeteria line and how to handle any type of dining out environment. Vendors include: Power Supply; Out of the Box Bakery, From the Farmer, Pure Bar, Toasted Oat and more!

Topic: “Navigating Through the Holiday Season Gluten-Free.” When you’re on a gluten-free diet, the holidays can seem like a minefield of tempting foods with unknown ingredients. During the DCMCO December 6th meeting will have three roundtable discussions about: How to stay fit, trim and Gluten Free during the holiday. How to Survive the Pitfalls of Holiday Parties, Potlucks, and Well-Meaning Relatives when you are Gluten Free. What Gluten Free recipes you are planning to make in your kitchen this holiday season.

Topic: Organic, Natural, Gluten-Free, GMO? – Are you confused about reading food labels and what they mean? You are not alone. Join the DCMCO and Sarah Scholl on March 7 when we will discuss, discover and demystify what is now being stamped on our products. Learn how the new FDA labeling law really impacts gluten-free products and whether or not your gluten-free diets should also be GMO-free diets.
Speaker: Sarah Cusack Scholl is a Certified Health Coach and Pediatric Physical Therapist. She pursued a career in Health Coaching after her daughter’s diagnosis of Celiac Disease, in 2008. Sarah is passionate about teaching individuals and families healthy diet and lifestyle choices to reduce disease and improve vitality. Gluten-Free Dinner Club
The Washington DC Gluten-Free Dinner Club meets regularly to go out to dinner at CD-friendly restaurants around the DC metro area. There are more than 130 members of all ages in the club. Meet other local people who have Celiac Disease to share information, recipes, and the best ways to eat delicious gluten-free meals.
