Volunteer

We Need You!

The events and initiatives of DCMCO are entirely supported by our volunteers and committees. Through DCMCO committees, members have the opportunity to increase their involvement and ensure the overall success of DCMCO while taking on a leadership role that will help impact the community.

Members have the opportunity to join the Communications Committee, Development Committee, Events Committee, and/or Membership Committee.

We also welcome General Support volunteers, who make themselves available on an as-needed project-by-project basis like helping with mailings or special events. This is the perfect way to get involved for those who cannot commit to long-term projects but want to help the DCMCO!

Committees

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee handles all of the marketing and public relations tasks for DC Metro Celiac Organization (DCMCO). This includes managing DCMCO’s website and social media; creating custom marketing materials; and promoting events through media coverage, e-newsletters, and creative marketing strategies. Whether you’re a communications professional or are simply interested in spreading the word about DCMCO, we can use your talents on the Communications Committee.

Development Committee

The Development Committee focuses on forming and maintaining strong relationships with local area businesses, organizations, and individuals to help us better serve our members and be a stronger voice for people with celiac disease, gluten allergies, and/or gluten intolerance. If you are interested in helping DCMCO grow its footprint and feel that you have strong relationships within the gluten-free community, this is the right committee for you!

Events Committee

The Events Committee is responsible for organizing DCMCO activities. These activities include our quarterly support meetings, Gluten free 101 sessions for those who are new to the gluten-free diet, and other networking and/or educational events. The Committee connects with local businesses and organizations to coordinate the planning, management, and successful execution of events. If you enjoy event planning and have exciting ideas for future DCMCO activities, this Committee is perfect for you!

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting and retaining DCMCO’s members by providing dues form and information about benefits, renewal notices, etc. Other duties include marketing the membership benefits and interacting closely with the DCMCO Board. Want to help grow our membership to its full impact?
